What is the Encryption Method?

Modified on Wed, 21 May at 2:22 PM

At OverseasConnect, safeguarding your data is a top priority. Our platform, hosted on Azure SQL managed database services, employs robust encryption methods to protect your information both at rest and in transit.

Encryption at Rest

OverseasConnect databases utilize Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), a feature provided by Azure SQL Database. TDE is enabled across all OverseasConnect databases, ensuring that data is encrypted when stored. This encryption leverages the 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), a highly secure industry-standard algorithm, to protect your data from unauthorized access at rest.

Encryption in Transit

For data in transit, OverseasConnect’s web application uses HTTP over TLS (Transport Layer Security) version 1.2. This ensures that all communications between your browser and our platform are encrypted, maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of your data during transmission. TLS 1.2 is a widely recognized protocol that provides strong security for data in motion.

Why This Matters

By implementing 256-bit AES encryption for data at rest and TLS 1.2 for data in transit, OverseasConnect ensures that your sensitive information, including payroll, accounting, and compliance data, is protected against unauthorized access. Our use of Azure’s advanced security features underscores our commitment to maintaining a secure environment for your global operations.
